Fence repairs in Sydney
Palings replaced, posts reset, gates re-hung so they close on the first go. Fence repairs and short runs.
Quotes are free, in writing / 7am to 5pm
Palings, posts or the gate. It is always one of the three.
Palings that have gone, split or dropped
A few missing palings is a small job. A whole section leaning is usually the posts, not the palings, and replacing boards on a fence whose posts have rotted is money spent twice. We will tell you which one you have before we quote it.
- Split, rotted and missing palings replaced and matched
- Rails checked and replaced where they have failed
- Sections re-lined so the fence runs straight again
- Old material taken away with us

Posts that have rotted or moved
A fence fails at the post, in the ground, where you cannot see it. Once one has gone the neighbours either side start carrying its load. Resetting a post means digging, concreting and letting it go off before the fence is re-fixed to it.
- Failed posts dug out and replaced, not packed and hoped
- Concreted and left to go off before the fence goes back on
- Post height and line set to the existing run
- Access and services checked before any digging

A gate that drags, drops or will not latch
Gates are the moving part, so they are the part that fails. A dropped gate is nearly always the hinge post moving or the gate itself racking out of square, and both are fixable without a new gate in most cases.
- Hinge post checked, reset or replaced where it has moved
- Gate braced back to square so it stops dropping
- Hinges, drop bolts and latches replaced
- Left swinging clear and latching on the first go

Four steps, no surprises
Photograph the run
One along the fence line and one straight at the damage.
We work out the cause
Palings or posts. It changes the job and the price completely.
We repair the run
Posts first, concrete left to go off, then boards and rails.
We clear the site
Old timber and offcuts go with us, not onto the verge.
Covered for the work, in writing
$5 million public liability cover, and up to 5 years on our workmanship, in writing, on every job.
The jobs a builder will not take are the jobs we are built for.
- The small jobs are the whole business. A door, a fence panel, a list of five things. That is the work we are set up for, not the leftovers between big jobs.
- You get the price before we start. Quotes are free and in writing, itemised, valid 30 days, and the quote says what is not included. Nothing is due on labour up front, and you can cancel at no cost before materials are ordered.
- We say no when it is not our job. A full boundary replacement across a whole property is worth getting from a dedicated fencing contractor. Old fibro sheeting can contain asbestos and must be removed by a licensed asbestos removalist, so if we see it we stop, tell you and point you at the right people.
- Up to 5 years on our workmanship. 5 years on what we build new, 3 years on repairs to what was already there. On top of your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which no warranty can take away.
What people ask about fencing
In NSW a dividing fence is generally a shared cost between the two owners under the Dividing Fences Act 1991, and the usual process is a written notice to your neighbour before work starts. Our contract is with whoever engages us. We will give you an itemised quote you can hand to your neighbour, but the agreement between you is yours to make.
We do repairs and short runs. A full boundary replacement across a whole property is worth getting from a dedicated fencing contractor, and it is a job where a second quote is genuinely useful.
No. Old fibro fence sheeting can contain asbestos and it must be removed by a licensed asbestos removalist. If we see it we will stop, tell you, and point you at the right people. We will not cut, drill or break it.
Usually. Most sagging gates are the hinge post moving or the gate racking out of square, and both can be corrected. If the timber itself has rotted through at the hinge we will say so, because bracing rotten timber only buys a season.
Yes. New work carries a 5 year workmanship warranty and repairs carry 3 years, both on our own workmanship. Timber movement and greying, storm damage, vehicle impact and ground movement are not covered.

Other things we get asked to do on the same visit
Most of the cost of a small repair is getting there, so anything else on this list can go on the same quote and the same day.
